Nagayama, the must-try Japanese restaurant of São Paulo

Nagayama, the must-try Japanese restaurant of São Paulo

For Japanese food lovers, this is the address not to miss when you pass through the largest Brazilian city.

Japanese chef Mario Nagayama opened his first Brazilian restaurant in 1988, in the Itaim Bibi district of São Paulo. It was followed by other establishments in the same city – Naga, Nagayama Café and Nagayama Jardins – as well as one in Rio. Since its opening, Nagayama has quickly become an essential address in São Paulo. Decorated in a very Japanese style, the room is simple yet warm and the wood pervasive – on the ground, walls and furniture. In addition to the sushi and other sashimi, which can be savoured with chopsticks, Nagayama offers other traditional dishes, such as the excellent Tempura Soba, made with noodles, fried shrimp tempura and vegetables, and Yakisoba, with sautéed noodles and pork filet mignon.
All the products are carefully selected and very fresh, for quality cuisine.
One thing is certain: you'll want to come back on your next trip to São Paulo.
